Cock-a-doodle Clock

Cock-a-doodle Clock

It’s still on my wish list: an original handmade German Black Forest Cuckoo Clock. I came this close to getting one back in the mid-90s when the company sent me to Hanover. But I couldn’t afford it. I still can’t afford it.

[For more than you'd like to know about: the Cuckoo Clock.]

Maybe in my frustration over my inability to acquire such timepiece, I’ve been eyeing this mass-produced non-handcrafted picture-faced wall clock that emits different bird sounds at the top of the hour. Well, yesterday, I bought one (it was on sale).

I still have to get used to it because the chirping and songbird singing startles me. Every hour. It’s a good jolt, though, to remind me that I need to get off my keyboard and stretch my legs. Remind, yes; act on it, maybe.

Now I’m thinking, there’s also this Meowing Cat Sound Clock and Barking Dog Sound Clock. Those should be fun. Or the Animal Sounds Clock featuring wild animals like elephants, chimps, hippos, and tigers. Maybe the Farm Animal Sounds Clock wouldn’t be too out in the jungle.

But, I figured, these animal sounds would make our home a little bit country.

We’re rock ‘n roll.
